VERVE RALLY OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED
Champagne glasses were clinking and Ververs were celebrating on Thursday, as the Verve Rally was officially launched.
Verve means enthusiasm and that was certainly the tone of the evening; Moet flowing until the small hours, a live cellist casting an elegant atmosphere, and celebrities discussing their favourite luxury drives. The first rally won’t roll out of London until 30th July, but hey, there’s always a good reason to celebrate nice cars and intrepid journeys.
The Verve Rally traverses through the old Champagne region, so it was fitting to launch the event by popping a few corks. Home House provided the setting; glamorous and exclusive, but radiating an intimacy that encouraged strangers to meet. Guests started arriving at 7pm for a glass of the sparkling and some opulent canapés, followed by much vibrant discussion about legendary driving routes and epic cars. Ali Bastian – actress from Hollyoaks and The Bill – had some inspiring words about luxury sports cars not just being for petrolheads.
In attendance were other celebrities, distinguished guests, members of the press, key partners, and the Verve Rally co-founders. Darshana Ubl took the stage to entertain, presenting the key features of the Rally and why it’s different. Verve is completely carbon-neutral, female and male-friendly, and evokes the original definition of rally, essentially meaning “to unite.”
If you don’t already know the details, you can find them all on the Verve Rally website.
Darshana also sneaked in a few little secrets about the route; expressive open roads, luxurious chateaux accommodation, photogenic country lanes. It all reignited the discussions about which car you would take – perhaps the Aston Martin V8 Vantage for the French Riviera, but maybe it has to be an Italian sports car given the Lake Como stop?
A Celebration on Many Levels
Verve is not a race. It’s a celebration of cool cars and where they can take you, but also a celebration of life and harmony with our environments. Tthe Verve launch party followed this mood. £1300 worth of prizes were given away, including a Dior pamper package, track day, a corporate tickets to Liverpool vs Barcelona.
Key Verve partners were in attendance, revealing angles that challenge traditional definitions. Centtrip were showcasing their interest-free global currency account. The PATT Foundation showed how carbon neutrality and sustainability is eminently possible with the right mindset. Paddock Life Magazine inspired many with their features on luxury lifestyle and great cars. And Dior providing delightful gifts and prizes for the evening’s proceedings.
VERVERS CONNECTING INTO THE SMALL HOURS
It officially ended at 9:30pm. But in true celebratory style, the champers was flowing long into the early hours. Verve Rallyers met on the elegant No21 Home House terrace, co-founders Darshana and Marcus whispered away a few more secrets at the Home House bar, and the proverbial engines were revved for the July 30th departure.
See the first collection of photos from the launch below. We’ll be updating this blog with more photos over the next few days.
And if you weren’t there and want to catch the atmosphere, there’s still time to apply to be part of the Verve Rally.
There are limited spaces available on the 30 July and 3rd September departures. Find out all the details here.
